lyrics

REFRAIN
O, Edenland, our blessed home
Where God himself is all-in-all.
How blessed those who till your loam
And hear the Eucharistic call.

VERSE 1
When we came out from Edenland
Our exodus from loving grace,
There was no rod in Moses’ hand
To part the sea and save our race:
But Angel’s sword to close the gate
And keep us from the Tree of Life.
Our parents chose the way of hate
And selfish, lonely, deadly strife.

VERSE 2
But what comes out from God is good,
Tho’ fallen it still bears the trace
Of Godly source and, if it could,
It would return to its own place
Within divinity’s pattern.
God would not lose a thing he’s made.
What has gone out must soon return
And from creation nothing fade.

VERSE 3
So God himself left Edenland,
From Garden-Glory he came near
To rebels’ hearts with open hand
To plant again his Eden here.
The New Jerusalem will come
From God with healing trees of life.
And this new land, for all, not some,
Will be a home of peace, not strife.

REFRAIN
O, Edenland, our blessed home
Where God himself is all-in-all.
How blessed those who till your loam
And hear the Eucharistic call.
