about

Based on the Collect (focused prayer) for the Fourth Sunday in Lent from the Book of Common Prayer:

Gracious Father, whose blessed Son Jesus Christ came down from heaven to be the true bread which gives life to the world: Evermore give us this bread, that he may live in us, and we in him; who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

lyrics

VERSE 1
Jesus Christ, Holy One, Incarnate Son,
Like Manna from high Heaven’s Banquet Hall,
Falls on those who would have Him in their heart.
The Bread of Life which cancelled Adam’s fall.

VERSE 2
As it is in Heaven’s Banquet Hall
So it is in hearts where manna dwells.
The Father’s grace is sung by hearts redeemed:
A thankful song from all creation swells

REFRAIN
Let our songs be sung and our stories told
With words Spirit filled and gladdest praises
From the soul indwelt by the Holy One
Jesus, Bread of Heaven, set our hearts ablaze.

VERSE 3
Come, O come, Bread of Heav'n, into our hearts.
Indwell our lives, Dear Jesus, blessed Son.
Abide with us that we may live in you
And may our stories in your Word be spun.

REFRAIN
Let our songs be sung and our stories told
With words Spirit filled and gladdest praises
From the soul indwelt by the Holy One
Jesus, Bread of Heaven, set our hearts ablaze.
Set our hearts ablaze,
Set our hearts ablaze.

REFRAIN
Let our songs be sung and our stories told
With words Spirit filled and gladdest praises
From the soul indwelt by the Holy One
Jesus, Bread of Heaven, set our hearts ablaze.
Set our hearts ablaze,
Set our hearts ablaze,
Set our hearts ablaze,
Set our hearts ablaze.
